Micronel AG is founded by Peter Meier Sr. on 17 January, in Tagelswangen, Switzerland. The company name is composed of “micron”, meaning smallest, and “el” for electronics.
1977
Micronel successfully launches the development and production of the first alternating current motor for miniature fans.
1984
Start of production of the world’s thinnest fan: Micronel AG is the first company worldwide to market an ultra-slim fan.
1985
1,000,000 ultra-slim fans have been produced and sold. Several Micronel blowers travel to outer space on the Space Shuttle Discovery.
1986
Micronel moves to a new building at Zürcherstrasse 51 in Tagelswangen, occupying 2,700 square metres of office and production space.
1996
ISO 9001 certification achieved. The first CAD workstation is set up.
1998
5,000,000 fans and blowers have been produced and sold. ASIC motor drive developed in-house.
2003
Revolution for the medical industry: Micronel presents ultra-small high-pressure blower series (U51).
2005
Introduction of ultra-small PAPR (powered air-purifying respirator) C012 inline blower. The product line is used primarily for personal protection gear.
2007
Development and production of an oxygen-resistant version of the two-stage U51 radial blower.
